DASC Programs
Durham Artistic Swimming Club offers a range of recreational, regional league (formally novice) and competitive programs for athletes of all ages and abilities. We would be happy to help you find the program that best fits your needs.
Recreational
(Up to age 12)
Durham Artistic Swimming Club’s Recreational Program is for swimmers with little or no artistic swimming experience. Swimmers must be able to pass their local community pool swim test (swim 2 lengths independently), be comfortable in deep water and follow water safety and social distancing rules. They must also be able to participate in a group learning environment.
Swimmers will be taught the fundamentals of artistic swimming and will develop a choreographed routine throughout the program. Programs focus on improving strength, coordination, flexibility and team building. Swimmers will be able to participate in the club's Winter Water Show OR year-end Water Show to showcase their new skills for family and friends (admission fee required).
DASC runs the AQUA GO! Program. This is a nation-wide foundation program for artistic swimming in Canada, with a focus on a fun, safe and welcoming environment.
At the first lesson, they will be placed in a class based on an assessment of their swimming skills and prior artistic swimming experience by the Recreational Head Coach. All efforts will be made to place swimmers in classes with children of a similar age and skill level.
