Who we are

Durham Artistic Swimming Club Inc or DASC. (formerly Durham Synchro Club) is a registered not-for-profit organization with Ontario Artistic Swimming (formerly Synchro Swim Ontario).  Our club offers many programs that inspire athletes of all ages to stay fit for life, while also promoting the sport of artistic swimming.

  • How do I gel my child’s hair for competitions?

  • My child is interested in a competitive team, what do we do?
    Team placements are held in June each year, for the following season. Following the team placement event, your child will receive an email from the Club’s Head Coach inviting them onto a team.
  • What age group will my child compete in?
    Ages, where applicable, shall be as of December 31 of the year in which the competition is held. For example, if your child’s birthday is in October, they are turning 11, they compete in the 11/12 age group in that season (Sept – June). If your child’s birthday is in February and they are turning 9, they will compete in the 9/10 age group that season (Sept – June).
  • What equipment will my child need to do synchro?
    Recreational: Cap (1 provided by Durham Artistic Swimming Club), goggles, nose clip and full-piece bathing suit. Competitive: Caps (1 provided by Durham Artistic Swimming Club, 1 white figure cap), goggles, nose clips, full-piece bathing suit (At least one all black suit for figures), team spacing suit, team bag, team track suit, team shorts and shirt, weight belt (For 12U and above teams), and tubing/TheraBands. Also required are two 20L collapsible water jugs which are available at camping stores and Canadian Tire.
  • Where can I purchase nose clips, caps and suits for practice?
    Nose clips, caps, goggles, suits, and other equipment can be purchased from our equipment manager or from any sporting goods stores. If you wish to purchase items through us please reach out to the equipment manager directly at equipment@dasc.ca
  • Where can I see competition dates for this season?
    Event schedules for Regional League and Competitive can be viewed at Ontario Artistic Swimming.
